We all want to become the best version of ourselves we can possibly be , its something we think about on a regular basis , how our life would be so much better and how happy we could be. We try as hard as we can to be our best selves in relationships, careers (etc) however the most effective way in becoming the best version of you in the long run is not to do it for other people but instead for yourself as the only person you will ever live with that is guaranteed for your whole life is YOU.
of course it is important to be a health and positive person for other people , it creates joyful, loving relationships and bonds, however working on your self for your own personal benefits will also bring benefits to any other relationships you also have as you feel complete in your self not needing any reassurance from others. Here are 5 steps to becoming your truest self in order to achiieve your full potential.
1. The first step and most important Wanting to change yourself for the better
In order to change your life and mindset you have to be patient with your self and dedicated to the commitment and hard work it can take . The process isn't a one day task, Pushing your self to do things that you may find hard is the way forward to becoming a better you as you coming out of your comfort zone no matter how simple or hard the task may be it is about pushing your self in your own ways and not comparing your self to others as nobody is the same in any kind of way down to mindset, struggles,apperance and so on . For example you may promise yourself to go on a morning walk everyday to clear your mind and reflect ,however one day just as you wake up you find it hard to become motivated and would rather fall back to sleep in the comfort of your bed . However pushing your self to get up and go on the walk you promised yourself brings a sense of accomplishment as you have pushed yourelf when you could have easily given in . Doing this shows commpitment and motivation to carry on.
2. Practice gratitude
Being grateful for the most simple things in life like your bed , the fresh air , food is just as import as being grateful for the extravagant and lucky things we may receive in our life time . It can be easy for us to take for the granted the most simple things in life as we are so used to having them and surrounded by them on a daily basis , being happy about your life waking up grateful is the key to staying happy .Once you learn to find positivity in the things around you nobody else can stop you as you are living in the now . Practicing gratitude everyday is a very posative habit , it can be as simple as writing down all of the things you are greatful for in that day , it can be people,luxuries,memories , objests (etc) this can put you in a happy mood for the day .
3. Setting goals for yourself
Having goals that you want to achieve gives you a purpose in life that give you a reason to wake up in the morning as we are excited to carry on working towards are goals. When goals eventually come true with dedication it can be the best feeling in the world bringing joy and a want for more , this means it is also important to celebrate the small goals that you have achieved as they can all add up to the big dream you have . Setting both big and small goals are just as important as each other for this reason.
4. Accepting failure
Failing at something can feel very frustrating and you may feel like you are letting your self down or others , however having a positive mindset looking at the situation in a different way can show you that failure is actually a blessing as failure can make you learn from your mistakes which means you can come back stronger with a diffrent approach . It can teach you valueble lessons and teach you knew things making you a better person as you have experience for the future .
5. Stepping out your comfort zone
Staying in your comfort zone can push back your personal growth and will do nothing positive for you , staying in a safe zone where you know everything is going to be ok can never give you new opportunities as you are never letting yourself. Stepping out of your comfort zone can bring magical new opportunities and bring you confidence. For example a personal experience of mine , I have always been a very shy person who never believed in myself and have found it hard to meet new people putting myself out there , however when I finally started to believe in myself and pushed myself out of my comfort zone I met my boyfriend who is the best person I have ever met which then brought me more confidence in myself . What I am trying to say is that taking one step can lead you to taking even more posative steps and stepping out of you comfort zone is the key to sucess and happiness as then everything else will follow along .
6. Always surround yourself with positive people
being surrounded by the people you love and who love you is key as it teaches you the value of relationships and enhances your love , this goes along with staying grateful and practicing gratitude as we can sometimes take for granted the relationships we have with others as we are so used to having them around us however this can change any minute that is why it is so important to cherish your loved ones at all times , being grateful for the ones you love and being around posative energy will all round make you happy and posative making you see the world as a better place as all we want in life is to be loved and life a life with others creating happy memories that you can cherrish forever .
Being better than who we were yesterday is never ending as we can always find ways to improve ourselves , however these steps can guide you in the right direction and teach you how you can apply new techniques into your life .
